Pop-up Show at New Mexico Highlands University
Media Arts & Culture Department
In December 2024, I had the opportunity to create an installation that showcased the masks, capes, audio stories, and photographs of the athletes. The masks and capes were printed on 44” x 142” canvas paper and hung from the room's ceiling. I printed the written stories on large fine art paper, covering the room's windows. I placed small speakers on each window to play the audio stories, allowing visitors to hear them as they approached. The photographs were displayed on two 85” TV monitors. I created a mural that featured artwork designs printed on fine art paper, alongside a wooden cactus I made using the X-tool, a laser cutter, and an engraving machine. The mural unified the artwork, stories, and photographs in the space.

Harwood Installation
The Residency for Art & Social Justice at Harwood Art Center provided me with a studio and the opportunity to showcase my art in their galleries from September 20 to November 3, 2024.

I worked with Cabrini Martinez, the print manager at the New Mexico Highlands University Media Arts & Culture Department, to print the artwork on 44”x 66” fine art paper. I got to test print the artwork on different types of paper and sizes.
I collaborated with Ocelotl Mora to install the artwork at Harwood.

In October, I held an opening reception, during which the athletes and I led a panel discussion and community conversation. More than 70 people attended
the event in support.
